As a district, we embrace parental involvement and the important contributions our parents and volunteers make on a consistent basis. We will continue to welcome community volunteers in our schools.  Each of our valued volunteers brings a special skill set and talent to our school community. Every year, we review our policies and practices in an effort to ensure we are utilizing our volunteers in a way which is beneficial for both volunteers and the school.  We will continue to provide a platform for volunteers and staff to coordinate the scope of volunteering activities.

Parents who wish to attend a class party or special event may continue to do so as they have done in the past.  Parents who wish to volunteer on a consistent basis or chaperone a class trip during the school year will need to follow the steps outlined below.

  1. Meet with the building principal
  2. Sign the Volunteer Handbook agreement form
  3. Complete a Sterling Volunteers background check
